Lawyer letter pricing as commonly quoted (Lawpath, checked Oct 2026). “Letter-only services” means services that prepare a letter of demand but not court documents. SueAnyone is a document-preparation service, not a law firm: you represent yourself and lodge in your own name. Court and tribunal fees are extra and paid to them.

Just the letter

Upgrade any time and pay only the difference: Lite → Standard $50, Standard → Premium $30.

For comparison, a lawyer-drafted letter of demand alone is commonly quoted at $400–$900 + GST (Lawpath, checked Oct 2026), with court work usually billed on top. Court and tribunal fees are set by government, paid to them (not us), and shown as one all-in total before you pay.

Each state does small claims differently: different forms, limits, fees and portals. We prepare the right document for the right forum, and when two fit, you choose.

Built-in guardrails

Not a law firm. Not a cowboy either.

Cheeky tone, serious engineering. Your documents go through checks a rushed human would skip.

  • Fact-checkerEvery dollar amount and date in your documents is matched against what you told us. Anything unsupported gets flagged — the AI doesn't get to make stuff up.
  • Over-limit, timing & wrong-forum checksClaiming $30k in WA? Bond dispute in small claims? Something from more than five years ago? We flag it — and a person checks the timing — before you pay a filing fee.
  • Checked before releaseStandard and Premium court documents are checked by a person before you see them. Only documents a solicitor actually reviewed carry a “Reviewed by a solicitor” badge.
  • Your evidence, hashedUploads are SHA-256 fingerprinted on arrival, so you can show they haven't been altered.

FAQ

Questions, answered bluntly.

Still wondering? Ask Sue in the chat (bottom right), or see the full FAQ.

Is SueAnyone a law firm?

No. SueAnyone is a document-preparation and information service, not a law firm, and we don't give legal advice about your situation. You tell Sue what happened and we help you say it properly: a letter of demand and, if needed, the right claim for your court or tribunal. You decide, you sign, you lodge. Premium case analysis and the Hearing Simulator are reviewed by our partner law practice (subject to launch).

Do I need a lawyer to go to small claims?

Usually not. Small claims courts and civil tribunals across Australia are designed for people to represent themselves — several (like NCAT, VCAT, and the WA and Tasmanian minor claims courts) restrict lawyers unless you get permission. For complex matters, personal injury, or big sums, a lawyer is worth it.

What can I sue for?

Money someone owes you that you can put a number on: personal loans, unpaid invoices, bonds, dodgy tradies, car damage, faulty goods, unpaid wages, neighbour damage and more. We don't do family law, criminal matters, personal injury, defamation or estates — our checker will flag those and point you to the right help.

How much does it cost?

All prices include GST. Lite is $49 for your letter of demand with unlimited revisions and a deadline tracker. Standard is $99 and adds the right claim or application for your court or tribunal, your sworn statement, a filing guide and a default-judgment pack. Premium is $129 and adds a full court pack, case analysis and the Hearing Simulator. Court fees are paid to the court; we show one all-in total before you pay us. Upgrade later and pay only the difference: $50, $30 or $80.

Are court fees included?

No — filing fees are paid straight to the court or tribunal and vary by state and claim size (for example, $64 at NCAT for consumer claims up to $10,000, or $199.50 at the WA Magistrates Court for minor cases). We show you the current fee for your claim. Fees can usually be added to what you claim back.

Do I pay before I see anything?

Nope. You build your whole case and see a blurred preview of your letter for free. Paying doesn't send a thing — it just unlocks your letter so you can read every word, revise it as often as you like, and send it when you're ready.

What about refunds?

If a document we generate is wrong, we fix it. Refund requests are handled under our terms (currently in draft pending legal review) and, always, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which we can't and won't exclude.

How long do they get to pay?

Your letter gives them 21 days (28 for Northern Territory debts; South Australia needs at least 21; 14 only with a good reason). Posted letters run from when they should arrive. We add 3 days' grace for transfers to clear, then your claim unlocks — day 24 for an emailed letter. You can send up to two reminders you approve, on day 14 and day 20. If they pay, hit 'Mark as paid'.

Stop being nice about it.

Build your case free in about 10 minutes. Letter of demand first, statement of claim and court pack if they ignore it. Court-ready from $99 incl. GST.
